Yung Gravy Nashville Concert reviews
Happy Valentine’s Day From the IceHogs
The arch rival Grand Rapids Griffins were in town, and everyone was hoping for revenge after a 9-1 loss nine days previous. At first glance, spending Valentine’s Day at a hockey game may not sound very romantic, but this is my second year doing it, and it is always packed. My quick detour to Ticket Services during intermission was like a human game of Frogger on the concourse, where I had to duck my wheelchair between pockets of humanity. It didn't start out well as Grand Rapids scored the first two goals, but the Hogs regrouped to halve the deficit by intermission.
I visited the Barnyard BBQ for the first time during the second intermission and had a good, yet kinda dry Pork Tenderloin Sandwich with fries. At intermission, I had a spirited second period where we tied the game after a wild scramble. I was too busy stuffing my face to celebrate the two third period goals that gave the Yung Gravy the 4-2 win. However, with Grand Rapids, you can never rest until the final horn sounds.
The Yung Gravy made it well worth it to push my wheelchair through several inches of snow on the two block slog towards the BMO from the Public Safety Building. This year, I even met a couple who had their first date at an Yung Gravy game and are now married. Either way, it was really thoughtful of the Yung Gravy to get everyone a win over Grand Rapids for Valentine’s Day.
